Upload images

Upload native imagery to a site visit when the data does not come through CoralNet.

Prepare files

  • Keep original pixels when possible; avoid screenshots or messaging-app recompression.
  • Use unique, stable filenames.
  • Separate different visits before upload.
  • Remove accidental non-survey files.
  • Record orientation or scale assumptions in the survey description.

Upload

  1. Open the site visit and select Assets.
  2. Start an upload and choose the image files.
  3. Keep the page open until the upload has been accepted.
  4. Wait for images to become ready.
  5. Open several images at full size before creating a job.

Do not start analysis from a partial ready set unless that subset is intentional and documented.

Quality check

Review a sample across the whole visit for blur, color cast, occlusion, duplicate frames, orientation, and non-reef imagery. Image quality problems propagate into both manual and model-assisted labels.
